A Clockwork Orange (1972) | Policeman Droogs
Alex's former Droogs (Warren Clarke, James Marcus, Michael Tarn) now grown-up and working as policemen, find Alex (Malcolm McDowell) after he is attacked by a mob. Nadsat, the invented slang spoken by the Droogs, comes from the Russian word meaning ‘teen’. A Clockwork Orange novelist Anthony Burgess decided to use Russian as the basis for Nadsat as he had learned the language before visiting Leningrad in 1961. A Clockwork Orange was released in cinemas worldwide in 1971 by Warner Bros. Pictures and is available to buy on DVD, Blu-ray, 4K & digital download.
