An Eye Opening Experience

📖 Scripture: Mark 10:46-52 This message shows how a blind beggar saw more clearly than many who walked beside Jesus. While the disciples struggled to understand who Jesus was and what He came to do, Bartimaeus recognized his need, believed in Christ's power, and responded in faith. Key Points: Realizing Jesus' Availability - Bartimaeus recognized that Jesus was near and that this was his opportunity to cry out for help. Before anyone can experience salvation, they must understand that Jesus is available and willing to receive those who seek Him. Reliance on Jesus' Abilities - Bartimaeus believed Jesus could do what no one else could. Calling Him "Son of David," he acknowledged Jesus as the promised Messiah and trusted in His power to change his life. Requesting Jesus' Alteration - instead of asking for temporary help, Bartimaeus asked for mercy and transformation. He wasn't looking for a handout—he was seeking a complete change that only Christ could provide. Responding to Jesus' Appeal - when Jesus called him, Bartimaeus immediately responded. He left behind his old life, came to Christ in faith, received his sight, and chose to follow Jesus rather than return to his former way of living. Salvation begins when we recognize our need, trust Christ's ability to save us, cry out to Him for mercy, and willingly follow Him when He calls. We’d love to see you at First Baptist Church!
