In the beginning of 2023, I came across terrible news that changed my view of the world. I lost a good friend of mine to suicide. A single missed call, and then I lost her forever. I grieved for days as I struggled with the devastating loss and emptiness, thinking: “How can I ever cope with the loss of such a good friend?” One day, I finally decided to pour my heart and grief into a song, titled “Would You Stay?”. In the process of writing this song, I was able to look back on the fond memories my friend and I shared, and it really helped me cope with her being gone. Through this song, I’d like to send a message that we never really know what other people are going through. Sometimes the biggest smiles hide the deepest pain.
