Consider: Commitment means nothing until it is demonstrated in the way we behave. I can be committed to school, but fail every grade through lack of trying. People can commit their lives to Christ - even come to church every Sunday - and never truly live for Him. God has given us a gift - a sign, really - that helps us make the transition from a commitment to selfishness to a commitment of Christlikeness. Baptism is a point in our walk where we can look back to and say, this is where I truly started to live what I confess. It is also a sign for others to notice that my commitment is not a quiet decision, but one that I live out loud from now on. Every Christian should be baptized. Not because it is right for religion, but because he or she wants to be right for Jesus. Is that what your baptism meant for you?
