96-Gun Salute Commemorating the Life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

The 96-gun salute was conducted by Australia's Federation Guard to mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The gun salute occurred outside Parliament House. Elizabeth II was born in Mayfair in London on 21 April 1926 as Elizabeth Alexandra Mary to Duke and Duchess of York who would later be King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (popularly known as the Queen Mother). King George VI would die on February 1952, making Elizabeth the Queen of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, and Ceylon and Head of the Commonwealth at 25 years old. As Queen, she would over many massive political changes in the United Kingdom from the Troubles in Northern Ireland, devolution of the United Kingdom, decolonisation of Africa Britain joining the European Communities and Brexit. Elizabeth would be a truck driver and mechanic in World War II.
