Reform UK deputy leader Richard Tice brands Labour’s welfare reform proposals as a “damp squib,” claiming the system is ripe for abuse, he accused some of gaming the system through loopholes. Tice doubled down, saying Reform UK is “the party of workers and strivers, not shirkers and skivers.” He criticised the ballooning welfare budget, set to rise by £27 billion over five years, and dismissed Labour’s proposed savings as “window dressing.” He also accused the government of financial lunacy over Net Zero, claiming the policy is impoverishing the nation. “Your bills are going to go up another £900 because of net stupid zero,” he said, arguing that public support for the programme would vanish if people knew the true costs.
