Find out which factories in Poland are already using artificial intelligence. Today we'll take a look at an interesting project that aligns with the Logistics 4.0 trend. The project was carried out by Nipper Polska from Wrocław, a company integrating carts for the Dutch company F3 Design. We will examine the operation of AGV carts, self-propelled vehicles designed to transport goods from one point to another. The robots on all lines can pack vegetables into both cardboard boxes and plastic crates. The roller conveyor ends are very narrow, so it was necessary to use technology that would ensure complete repeatability and navigation accuracy, ensuring the cart always fits through the roller conveyor ramps. The cart navigation technology is based on 360-degree scanners, placed over 2 meters high. The scanner allows for precise mapping of the area and, during operation, the cart's location within the workspace. The carts transport approximately 300 pallets daily during a 16-hour period. They have already traveled over 2,500 km in a year. The main advantage of the solution we saw today is not only the repeatability of the Nipper AGV movements and the complete openness of the configuration software, but also the implementation time, which is measured in days, not months, at the facility.
