First, we visited the Christmas markets in Kiel. Kiel has several Christmas markets that stretch through the city center to the Kiel Fjord. The Kiel Christmas Village is the heart of the festivities, and the highlight is the flying elf Kilian. He floats over the square three times a day in his cog ship. The Christmas market at Holstenplatz has been the centerpiece since 1973. A 12.5-meter-high pyramid stands in Asmus-Bremer-Platz. Afterward, we boarded the AIDAprima and, after a day at sea, arrived in Oslo. In Oslo, the most famous Christmas market is Jul i Vinterland, located right in the middle of the grand Karl Johans Gate. The Ferris wheel and the Spikersuppa ice rink are the highlights here. There were also several other Christmas markets in Oslo. The most beautiful ice rink is in Copenhagen. It's set up right in the middle of Nytorf Square. Nearby, in the famous Nyhavn harbor district, is the most photogenic Christmas market. A stroll along the canal is highly recommended. There are other Christmas markets worth visiting in the city center. According to CNN, the Winter Wonderland at Tivoli is even one of the best Christmas markets in the world.
