My Cabbage roll recipe is based on how my Mother taught me years ago, I've tweaked here and there and added Lean Ground Beef. I encourage you to do the same thing. Cube this into small pieces 2-3 Garlic cloves, also cubed into small pieces 3/4 cup uncooked Long Grain Rice 1 lb or 453 G Lean Ground Beef 1/2 - 3/4 cup of Strained Tomatoes, regular tomato juice also works 1 tsp tomato paste (I prefer this product in a tube format) 1/2 cup beef broth 1 tsp beef concentrate 1.5 tsp sea salt .5 tsp black pepper INSTRUCTIONS Start by coring the head of cabbage, and place it into a large pot of boiling water and cook it for about 15-30 mins. The cooking time will depend on how large your cabbage is. Once the cabbage is cooked, side it aside to cool. Using a sharp knife remove as much of the spine of each cabbage leaf and set aside fry the cubed onions and garlic until translucent, then add to a mixing bowl and set aside In a large measuring cup add in all the wet ingredients and the salt and pepper then add this to the bowl of onions and garlic Next add the raw ground beef and rice and mix thoroughly I placed the cabbage rolls into two "2 lb" Betty Crocker aluminum loaf pans (bought at Dollarama) and trimmed the leading edges to fit into my Ninja Foodie Air Fryer basket If you're using your regular oven, there's no need to trim the edges, but you should place a baking sheet pan under the loaf pans to catch any over flowing juices I baked the two pans in the Air Fryer at 350 F for 60 minutes, checking them half way through.
