Pure bliss on the banks of the Berry Canal in Sancoins, Cher, at the motorhome area July 2023 - Sancoins - Cher Department Hello everyone, It's Wednesday, July 26, 2023, and this morning we left Treigny in the Yonne department and headed leisurely towards the town of Sancoins in the Cher department. 👉The Sancoins motorhome area is located on one side of the Berry Canal and on the other side by the trees. The spot is ideal if you're a fisherman or simply looking for a relaxing moment by the water. 👉When we arrived, we easily found a spot by the trees, a fairly large space considering our size, where we were also able to set up a table and chairs. 👉The area is very well laid out, because by going to the far end, you can easily turn around, which isn't always the case. Negligible The next morning, the area emptied, and we moved to a spot by the canal. 👉Parking here is free, the waste disposal area is quite large and easily accessible, and the service point uses tokens costing €3, which can be purchased from shops in the town center, particularly the ATAC supermarket or Valérie's bar/tobacconist just opposite the area. 👉For cycling or walking enthusiasts, there's a wooded path several kilometers long extending from the motorhome area. 👉You can take a loop of approximately 2.5 km starting from the motorhome area and returning along the other side of the riverbank, crossing a bridge a little further on. 👉On Friday evenings, a "Pizza'Ovor" pizza truck sets up for the evening on the other side of the riverbank. 👉Don't hesitate to stroll through the town center of Sancoins; you'll find all the shops you need there, without exception, including bakeries, butchers, delicatessens, pharmacies, bars/tobacconists, newsagents, and more… And I'm surely forgetting some! 👉But don't miss its weekly market in the market hall, held every Wednesday morning, and its livestock market located in Parc des Grivelles. 👉Go and take a look at the Church of Saint-Aignan; this church is a true gem, with delicate sculptures and well-preserved frescoes. 👉An event not to be missed if you're in the area: the Sancoins Agricultural Show, taking place on August 12th and 13th, 2023. This is a major event that's very popular in the town and surrounding area. 👉As I mentioned earlier, you'll find an ATAC supermarket just to the left, a few meters from the motorhome area. 👉That's it for this tour of Sancoins.
