In this episode, Lene tells her story. She grew up in an outwardly unremarkable academic family. Behind this facade, she experienced years of organized sexual abuse in her own home. To survive, she developed dissociative identity disorder. She describes how different parts of herself emerged, what blackouts and co-consciousness feel like, and why she had difficulty processing her memories as a child. Lene talks about being forbidden to speak, manipulation, and the experience of no one paying attention, even though she was sending signals. When the abuse ended with a move, the trauma remained active within her. During puberty, her body image shifted dramatically. She develops anorexia and experiences hospitalizations, pressure, forced feeding, and numerous further hospitalizations. Later, she enters a period of severe suicidal ideation, over-medication, and an addiction problem that leads her into a second circle of abusers.
