UCI Gravel World Series, Velden am Wörtersee 2026

Season opener at the UCI Gravel World Series in Austria 🇦🇹… and it turned into a full day of suffering. 150 km. 1700+ meters of climbing. 1500+ riders. Perfect conditions… and absolutely no mercy. Velden am Wörthersee became a massive gravel hotspot – fast, dusty, and brutal. From the very start, it was all about finding the right group, holding the wheel, and never stopping to push. No recovery. No easy moments. Just constant pressure on the pedals. Result: 29.5 km/h average speed in an all-out race. The dry conditions made it insanely fast – but also extreme. High-speed gravel sections filled with dust had us almost suffocating. My eyes were still burning days after the race. This year’s reality check: No crash (finally!) Missed my second feed zone Two moments close to cramps… but managed to recover And some familiar faces along the way 🙂 I narrowly missed qualification for the Gravel World Championships. In a field like this, every second counts – and this time, it wasn’t enough. Still… finishing this race on my birthday makes it a special one 🎉 And honestly: I’m happy, proud, and satisfied with my performance. 👉 This is the full, uncut race – just raw gravel racing from start to finish. Perfect for your indoor ride… or if you want to prepare for next year’s race. #gravel #ucigravel #gravelrace #cycling #enduranceracing #gravelcycling #roadbike #bike #cyclinglife #fromwhereiride #cyclist #insta360 #fullrace #rawfootage #velden #austria #uci #gravelworldseries #masterscycling
