Malú presenta 'Quince': "He hecho el primer disco de mi vida que no lleva una máscara por delante"
The release of her album "Quince" brought Malú to the "Cuerpos especiales" program this Friday. The singer got up early to talk with Nacho García and Lalachus about this work, in which she finally sheds the persona she created at 15 when she started in music and feels free for the first time. #malu #humor #music https://www.europafm.com/programas/cu... Malú is overflowing with happiness. The singer, who got up early this Friday to appear on "Cuerpos especiales," is presenting her album "Quince" and couldn't be happier. "I'm thrilled," she confessed to Nacho García and Lalachus right at the start of the interview. "It's been ages since I released an album of new material," she said about this album, written with complete freedom. "From a place of peace, tranquility, and serenity," she continued, speaking about the songs she imbued with whatever sound she wanted, "without any fear or hang-ups about whether it's current, old-fashioned, or modern..." For Malú, that doesn't matter. "Quince is THE album for me," she added, referring to this work in which she sheds the image of the perfect, flawless girl she adopted when she started 15 albums ago. "I was a very vulnerable, insecure, and shy girl. I needed to put up a lot of barriers, and I created a wonderful character that suited me incredibly well, and I was also good at it," she explained about her beginnings. "But there came a point when I realized something inside me needed to come out. Too much anxiety, too much fear, too much perfectionism, too much control..." the singer confessed, admitting she was experiencing a bit of imposter syndrome. "It was like, 'It's not me they like, it's this.' This creates a lot of anxiety." Malú created this persona when she was 15, and almost without realizing it, she found herself recording an album and going on tour. "I was capable of anything to avoid going to school," she said about why she decided to accept the contract offered by a record label. "Aprendiz" sold a million copies, and the tour soon followed, even though Malú didn't want it. "I remember crying in my room with my mother, saying, 'I lied, I can't go on tour, I can't sing.' My mother was saying, 'Come on, you sang, you made this album...' And I was like, 'Yes, yes, but I can't sing. I only did it to avoid going to school.'" "It's been many years with that persona, hiding behind it, and that gives you a lot of anxiety," she explained. "In the end, you're not free to speak, you're not free because you don't want to fail to meet the expectations people have of you," she continued, adding: "Getting rid of that, taking off that mask, getting rid of all that insecurity has given me life, and I've probably made the first album of my life that doesn't wear even the slightest mask." The seven nights at Las Ventas and Malú's tour "I enjoyed it immensely," confessed the singer, who is experiencing her best moment on stage. "I feel very free, and that makes it even more special. I notice it vocally; I have no barriers. Something inside me has been released, and I don't want to stop touring," said the performer, who has concerts booked throughout the summer and winter. Her new tour will draw from this experience in Madrid. "It was beautiful; I loved it. Preparing the show for the tour, I'm keeping the concept, and I'm still working on it." "I'm not going to do the same thing because I said I wasn't going to, but I'm keeping the idea in mind," the singer pointed out. She was accompanied by close friends at these seven concerts and included a total of 66 songs in her repertoire. Now she's rehearsing 58, so things are looking promising. -------------------------------------------- Follow all the latest music news, interviews with artists and bands, acoustic performances, fun facts, and all the new features from Europa FM on our channel. 👉 Subscribe! / europafmoficial // CONNECT WITH THE EUROPA FM UNIVERSE // 📱 Take Europa FM with you wherever you go, download our app: iOS: https://apps.apple.com/es/app/europa-...
