Africa is undergoing a significant energy transition, with nuclear power emerging as a key component of its sustainable energy mix. While challenges remain, the continent is demonstrating a clear commitment to harnessing nuclear technology for economic development and social progress. Several countries are making strides in their nuclear endeavours, signalling a promising future for the industry in Africa. The African continent is projected to have 15 GW of new nuclear capacity by 2035,representing a staggering market opportunity of approximately $105 billion. Despite past hesitations, African nations are increasingly recognizing the benefits of nuclear energy in addressing their unique needs. Nuclear power offers a reliable, clean, and sustainable source of electricity, crucial for powering industries, creating jobs, and Africa is at the forefront of a transformative energy shift, with nuclear power playing a pivotal role in its sustainable energy future. As the continent addresses rising energy demands and climate goals, nuclear energy is gaining momentum as a reliable and clean solution. African nations are forging ahead with ambitious nuclear programs, showcasing a resolute commitment to economic growth, social progress, and environmental sustainability through nuclear technology. The international community should take note of Africaโs growing commitment to nuclear energy. This presents valuable opportunities for collaboration, investment, and knowledge-sharing. By partnering with African nations, global players in the nuclear industry can contribute to the continentโs sustainable development while fostering innovation and technological advancement. ๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ค๐๐ซ๐ฌ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ซ ๐ข๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐: โ๏ธ Awwal Bisallah, Head of International Cooperation, Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission ๐ณ๐ฌ โ๏ธ Mickel Edwerd, Head, Africa Section, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) โ๏ธ Ibrahim Ababou, Director, Africa & Middle East, Nuclear Business Platform ๐ฒ๐ฆ โ๏ธ Dr. Stephen Yamoah, Executive Director, Nuclear Power Ghana ๐ฌ๐ญ โ๏ธ Harouna Sawadogo, President, Agence burkinabรจ de lโรnergie atomique (ABEA), Burkina Faso ๐ง๐ซ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: 03:31 - Africa Nuclear Overview ๐ช๐ถ๐ต๐ต๐ฌ๐ช๐ป ๐พ๐ฐ๐ป๐ฏ ๐ต๐ผ๐ช๐ณ๐ฌ๐จ๐น ๐ฉ๐ผ๐บ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฌ๐บ๐บ ๐ท๐ณ๐จ๐ป๐ญ๐ถ๐น๐ด: ๐๐๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ - https://www.nuclearbusiness-platform.... Email: [email protected]
