As always, our approach is holistic and cause-oriented: What can we do locally? What role do knee and hip position, and our center of gravity play? Is it really inflammation or rather an overload? We clarify whether treatment with injections is necessary or whether targeted exercises will help. To do this, we first analyze the anatomy: The plantar fascia connects the heel to the toes and is directly connected to the Achilles tendon. These structures transmit forces when walking and running. A common myth is that pain in this area is always caused by inflammation. In fact, this is often not the case. Many affected individuals do not experience significant swelling, and inflammation levels are difficult to measure. Instead, it is usually due to chronic overload caused by misalignments or unfavorable movement patterns. A key problem is a forward-shifted center of gravity. Many people unconsciously compensate for this by pushing their pelvis forward. This leads to flat feet or, in advanced cases, a pes cavus with claw toes. Both misalignments require different corrections. We demonstrate targeted exercises to realign the pelvis and stabilize the foot. A key exercise is breathing while lying on your back to shift the center of gravity back. This is followed by specific exercises for flat and pes cavus types.
