Great Divide Route | Hiking the True Canadian Wilderness

As some of you know, the "Great Divide ROUTE" is the natural wild continuation of the "Great Divide Trail" on the north. The GDR is completely pathless and unmarked: if you go there you'll be on your own. We planned on hiking the entire route, doing 15km days in order to be able to enjoy ourselves and cover the mileage as we had done in Sections E and G of the GDT. However, we quickly realized the GDR is a completely different beast. We simply couldn't do what we had very successfully done in the GDT, that is, getting up around 9am, walking about 6 hours, having long breaks, etc. Often walking at 1km/h (even 0.4km/h!) it was either pushing the days and the miles at the cost of enjoying ourselves as usual or walking half the way but have a phenomenal time. You'll soon find out what we did! *Correction: Both Wapiti P.P. and Warner pass are found past Warner Lake if you're walking NOBO. Subscribe if you don't want to miss out on the full video!
