Odgłosy karmienia piersią

Sounds of breastfeeding recorded in the anechoic chamber (very quiet room) with utilization of the best sound equipment available. The goal of this project was to record the sounds produced by infant during breastfeeding. We also described suckling phases, to help new parents distinguish when their infant is suckling properly and transferring milk well. This video will show three mothers nursing their daughters in acoustic chamber. Girls are 5,4 and 2 months old respectively. Thanks to echo free environment and best microphones we were able to capture different phases of breastfeeding. These include: the letdown phase: suckling to stimulate milk letdown, nutritional suckling phase when baby transfer milk well and slower suckling phase at the end of the feeding (not included in this recording). In addition we were able to capture and describe some other important events during breastfeeding such as smacking, difficulty with breathing, and environmental influences that effects breastfeeding. We combine acoustics and lactation thanks to interdisciplinary collaboration between acoustician and midwife.
