Tape Loop Tuesday // June 16th, 2026

Tonight's featured album: "My Sunburnt Baby" by Damn Shame Bandcamp: https://damn-shame.bandcamp.com/album... /// If this is your first time here, welcome! I'm Mark. I make tape loops for ambient and experimental musicians. A tape loop is a short (ie. a couple seconds) splice of tape that plays on repeat. Recording to it can cause unpredictable patterns, phrases, and textures. I like to record to and play with them as a way of breaking through writer's block, but some musicians compose entire pieces with them. The transcendence that is incurred by sending a tape loop through a delay pedal is a common first place people get hooked. It's samples but with analog chaos introduced. Tape loops can be a pain in the ass to make though. Many musicians don't possess the dexterity to handle such a flimsy piece of material and adhere it to its same slippery self. Many musicians just want to get to making the damn music because who has time to learn a new skill when AI is out there doing its horrifying thing. I digress. Lifted Loopworks is the cross-section of two of my passions and hobbies: music and 3D modeling. I started this livestream because I'm up late doing this anyway, so I figured I'd open up a little workshop window to the internet, all while spreading a little love by way of the music made within this incredible community. Please support tonight's featured artist. This endeavor has seen me create thousands of tape loops so, if I may please say so, I've gotten quite good at it. It would be a thrill for you to purchase one and begin on your own, funky analog journey. Thanks for reading. I'm here every Tuesday! /// Lifted Loopworks on Etsy: http://liftedloopworks.etsy.com Sign up for the Lifted newsletter: http://www.liftedloopworks.com
