CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Senator Lindsey Graham's sudden passing has reignited speculation over the future of his seat in Congress after he cruised to the Republican nomination in South Carolina in pursuit of a fifth term earlier this summer. Sen. Graham, 71, died overnight Saturday after a "brief and sudden illness," according to his staff in Washington. Paramedics arrived at his DC home around 8:30 p.m. and by 9 p.m. said over scanner audio they were treating a man suffering from cardiac arrest before transporting the man to George Washington University Hospital, according to Washington Post reporting.
