Fresh Meadows In Queens, NY Walking Tour

Original Film Date: Thursday May 28th, 2026 This is Fresh Meadows, Queens. Fresh Meadows is a neighborhood in Queens, New York that is bordered next to Auburndale, Cunningham Park, Oakland Gardens, Holliswood, Jamaica Estates, and has Union Turnpike with a long, closer connection with Kew Gardens Hills. Fresh Meadows has small communities such as Hillcrest, Pomonok, and Utopia. This is a nice neighborhood with suburban houses, a residential working class community, projects of apartment buildings, St. John's University, Cunningham Park, its diverse community of residents, and the diverse amount of department stores/restaurants located in Horace Harding Expressway and 188th Street. The weather was a little bit tricky when I walked around Fresh Meadows. The weather reported said "Partly Sunny and only 10-20% less rain". The 20% rain was drizzle at 1:30pm and then 2:30pm. It was crazy, but confusing. I didn't bring an umbrella with me, because I was unprepared for this tricky weather. I didn't think it would rain a little bit, when it's supposed to be sunny all day without rain and small dark clouds. It was 76 F, Partly Sunny weather, and a little bit of drizzle with 20% rain that wasn't entirely reported. The demographics of Fresh Meadows are mixtures of social classes, immigrant groups, and native New Yorkers living here. The race breakdown makes up 47% Asian, 33% White, 10% Hispanic/Latino, 7.5% Black, Mixed race and others make up 2.5%. Around 20% of Fresh Meadows is Jewish with Orthodox Jews, Ashkenazi Jews, a few Bukhara Jews, and a few Hasidic Jews. Most Asians are Chinese, Pakistanis, Indians, Bangladeshis, Koreans, a few Filipinos, and a few Arabs. Most Hispanics/Latinos are Colombians, Ecuadorians, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Mexicans etc. The White demographics make up White Americans, some Italian Americans, Greek Americans, a few Irish Americans, some Polish people, and some Hungarians. The Black demographics are just African Americans, some Jamaicans, and other Caribbean ethnic groups. Fresh Meadows may be a nice neighborhood to live and afford rent for a residential house, but the apartments look pretty old and somewhat dirty. The apartment complexes that are "the projects" or projects for lower class people aren't the right place for higher class people to move in. Higher class and middle class residents move in to nice houses. They choose to live separately away from the apartment buildings in Fresh Meadows and other NYC neighborhoods.
