The LEGO Monorail System
A fun video to celebrate the milestone of over 8000 subscribers! This innovative system of transport never took off. Still, it can be said that there is something special about the monorail. Something so bold and elegant that captures our attention. LEGO first introduced their own monorail system back in 1987, with set 6990 kicking things off. Set 6399 the Airport Shuttle followed in 1990, and then another space set was released in 1994. Whilst initially deemed too expensive at the time, the monorails struggled to sell. Yet in later years, they are some of the most desirable LEGO sets for collectors. These second-hand models were slowly acquired over time and are now fully operational. I love them dearly and hope maybe to do something with them in the future underneath the layout and do my own custom monorail at some point.
