Neither do we. This recipe is the one we came home with.Ingredients: 50ml blanco tequila — (Patrón Silver, Olmeca Altos, or Don Julio for serious evenings) 25ml Cointreau — (not triple sec from the bottom shelf — Cointreau, always) 30ml fresh lime juice — squeezed to order, never from a bottle — this is non-negotiable 10ml agave syrup — (just enough — the lime should lead, the agave follows) Pinch of flaky sea salt — (into the drink, not just the rim — this is the secret Spain gave us) Garnish: thin lime wheel + coarse salt rim (Tajín optional — highly recommended) Method: Salt the rim first — wet the edge with a fresh lime wedge, press firmly into coarse salt, set aside. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice — fill it generously. Add tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, agave syrup, and the pinch of salt. Shake hard for twelve seconds — the Margarita needs the cold. Double-strain into your salted glass over a large ice cube, or serve straight up in a chilled coupe if it's that kind of night. Garnish with the lime wheel.
