Loading and Unloading the Reload - DIY Kayak Loader
A quick look at how I load and unload my Viking Reload. I can straight lift this kayak onto the roof, but this makes it a bit safer in wind or when tired. Gear used: 25 x 25mm x 1m square tube 20 x 20mm x 1m square tube Bolt and wing nut 20mm x 125mm x 100mm Angle Bracket Tek Screws x2 PVC pipe to suit The 20mm tube fits nicely inside the 25mm tube, can be reversed for storage. The bolt prevents the tube from slipping under load and the pipe allows the kayak to slide for easier positioning during loading. I have set the kayak rack brackets to allow the 25mm tube to fit.
