Ugetsu: A Beautiful Haunting Masterpiece
Ugetsu, also known as Ugetsu Monogatari, released in 1953 and was directed by Kenji Mizoguchi. It's technically a samurai movie because it takes place during the 1600s in Japan and features samurai in it, but it instead focuses on the peasants and the negative effect war and samurai have on them.
