What Chess Really Teaches Us | Analeigh O'Quinn | TEDxBrown County Schools

Chess is more than a game of kings, queens, and strategy, it is a life lesson. In What Chess Really Teaches Us, Analeigh O'Quinn reveals how the skills developed across a chessboard, patience, critical thinking, adaptability, and resilience, can help us navigate challenges far beyond the game itself. Her talk challenges listeners to see every move, setback, and decision as an opportunity to grow. Analeigh O’Quinn is a sixth grader at Brown county middle school. She lives with her parents, Matt and Dawn Stidham. She has had a passion for educating others for a long time, and loves speaking in front of a crowd. She joined Ted ed to share stories and state her opinions on topics she loves. She has a deep passion for chess, and she hopes others like her have an opportunity to learn what chess can help you do not only on the board, but in life. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
