Repair and upgrade of a FOX DHX2 with oil leakage caused by a damaged shaft. This FOX DHX2 arrived at the workshop in very bad condition, with a worn shaft that was directly affecting its performance. On these shocks, the original shaft tends to scratch quite easily, which eventually leads to oil leaks and loss of performance over time. In this case, we performed a full diagnosis, teardown, and complete FOX DHX2 service, but we also went a step further: we replaced the original shaft with a custom-made stainless steel shaft, designed to offer much better wear resistance and durability. This type of solution not only restores the shock’s performance, but in practice improves it beyond the original factory component, with results we have already tested in real use.
