"Hunt: Showdown 1896" is getting a major update. My favorite game is finally getting the latest version of the CryEngine, and we're excited to see what it can do. The new map is also supposed to be a real eye-catcher, with its many tunnels and twists and turns demanding new strategies. And last but not least, a new event is waiting for us. This even lures an old member back to the team: Mattes is back! We're excited to present new episodes in the new game. Welcome to "Hunt: Showdown 1896." Here's what the developer says about the game: Brutal, nightmarish monsters roam the swamps of Louisiana, and you belong to a group of rugged gunslingers tasked with ridding the world of them. Banish these creatures from our world, and you'll be generously rewarded—and given the opportunity to purchase more gruesome, powerful weapons. Fail, and death will rob you of both your character and your equipment. Your experience, however, always remains within your hunter group, known as a "Bloodline." HIGH RISK, HIGH REWARD, HIGH TENSION The competitive, match-based gameplay blends PvP and PvE elements, creating a thrilling experience where your life, character, and gear are constantly on the line. At the start of each bounty hunt, you join a team of up to 12 players to hunt monsters. Depending on the game mode and team options you selected, these 12 players can be solo players or teams of up to three. Once they locate and defeat one of the targets, they receive a reward and instantly become the target of other hunters on the map. So, if you're not careful, you'll end up with a knife in your back, and the last thing you'll remember is someone making off with your riches. The higher the risk, the higher the reward—but a single mistake can cost you everything. GAME PROGRESSION Even in death, you can still advance through your Bloodline among the Hunters. Even if your character dies, their experience is transferred to your Bloodline, where you can apply it to your other Hunters. If you manage to leave the map alive, you can use the earned money and experience to equip new Hunters and prepare for the next match. If you die, you lose everything except your experience. DARK SIGHT Dark Sight allows Hunters to see beyond the veil between worlds, revealing to the initiated what is invisible to mortal eyes. Use Dark Sight to track monsters, and a ghostly light will guide you to your next target.
