LIFE-Sterlet Identification of Danube Sturgeon Species
6 Sturgeon species are native in the Danube River. Several more non-native ones can be found in aquaculture and can be encountered in the wild due to intentional or unintenional stocking or escapes in the wild. As they are able to hybridize it is important to be able to distinguish the different species and remove non-natives from the wild. This is Part 1 with the native species. It is a co- product of the LIFE-Sterlet and the LIFE- For Danube Sturgeons projects. http://life-sterlet.boku.ac.at https://danube-sturgeons.org/
