Pin Up Betty repeats in Churchill Downs' Anchorage
Three Diamonds Farm's homebred 5-year-old mare Pin Up Betty is a consistent check-earner who has run out $1.2 million but it had been seven starts since she'd won while facing top-caliber competition. On closing weekend at Churchill Downs, the multiple graded-stakes winner captured the $275,000 Anchorage Stakes, her first visit to the winner's circle since last year's Anchorage. We speak to trainer Mike Maker, who said the key was just letting jockey Flavien Prat ride her as he thought best, as well as the winning jockey.
