Starting Your Superkart The Easy Way - Education & Entertainment
#superkart #superkartraces Q. Note 95% of Superkart teams still push-start their 140mph machines, why? A. Well, If you have an electric starter you need a starter motor which is heavy, you also need a battery to run the starter motor which is even heavier so that’s why we don’t have them on our particular Superkarts. Q. Is that because Superkarts want to stay super light, so they can reach the speeds they do? A. It’s not that the carts want to be super light because we have a minimum weight to weigh in at at the end of a race of 218 kg including the driver, this gives other people who are larger than 75 kg to be able to be competitive as they lighter guys often have to put lead on to make the weight. So it's because we want to keep weight down when and where we can, as well as keep the Superkart less cluttered, the less equipment on the Kart the better. Try the Superkart electric starter motor: Key facts on the Superkart electric starter motor: The only objective of the electric starter is to remove the need to have to push start the Superkart every time. The push start just adds time and frustration which is not needed, having a race about to begin is enough pressure to deal with at that moment. So the electric starter motor keeps the grid starts a little smoother, plus we can drive up to the grid from our team tent, getting everything a little warmer before we hit the track. There are 2 recognized methods of a quicker start option:- 1. The electric starter motor is the one that we have used and is further outlined in the steps below and our video. Our chosen solution, the electric starter motor 2. The direct engine connection start option. 95% of Superkart teams still have to push their Superkarts to get them started. Superkarts are the only race car that still requires a push, even go-karts now have an electronic ignition button that is used to start the kart when it is stationary on the grid. Our chosen and fitted electric start option, the electric starter motor requires: - Purchasing the electric starter motor from Mike Topp……https://bit.ly/viewelectricstartermotors Machine the connection socket to allow you to connect it to your Superkart For more information watch this video :) and our detailed plan’s A, B, C & … :) Finally after going through the plans, what you actually need to do is 1. Put the Superkart in 3rd Gear. 2. Switch the ignition on. 3. Wedge the choke up. 4. Attach the electric starter motor. 5. Clutch in. 6. Switch the electric starter motor on, let it rev high enough. 7. Let Clutch out. 8. Superkart starts , excellent. 9. Were in business, easy starts, love it. And there you have it, straight from CHRacing Test Centre and HQ :) (though step 3 above will be improved, some how :) ) Great, less hassle on the starting grid, sounds good to us, any questions then leave us a comment or get in touch directly via our Facebook or Instagram Direct Message options.
