Demolition of Ullathorne's Mill (1975)
Built in 1760 Ullathorne's Mill stood for over 200 years in the shadow of Barnard Castle. It was to become one of the largest shoe-thread mills in the country and the main employer in the district. This 8mm film footage, taken late 1975 over several weeks, shows the gradual demolition of the Mill and the fall of the great chimney. Demolition was completed by 1976.
