In this walking tour of Mont Choisy Beach, I start near Mystik Hotel on the southern end and walk all the way up passed Tarisa Resort towards Club Med and Pointe aux Canonniers Beachcomber hotel. Mont Choisy is said to be one of the longest beaches in Mauritius, stretching about 3km along the coastline. What makes it special is the space, the shade from the trees, and the calm swimming area. It’s a proper public beach, with barbecue pits, benches, outdoor gym equipment, showers and some of the cleanest public toilets you’ll find anywhere on the island. You’ll see: The beachfront near Mystik Hotel Direct beach access at Tarisa Resort The old airstrip site from early Mauritius aviation Local barbecue areas and meeting spots Parking areas and bus stops along the beach Food stalls in the middle section The outdoor gym near the northern end Views toward Pointe aux Canonniers There’s no big supermarket right on the beachfront, so you do need to come prepared. But that’s part of the charm. Mont Choisy has a more local feel compared to some of the other beaches in Mauritius.
