Briggs & Stratton Dual Circuit Charging System - Diagnosis and Explanation
I was planning to make a video replacing my Briggs & Stratton Intek mower engine alternator but ended up solving the problem. I go through the Dual Circuit Alternator in the single cylinder engine, explain how it works and how to diagnose problem. This particular one has a single diode to convert AC to DC voltage to charge the battery instead of a conventional voltage regulator/rectifier. This engine is a 15.5 HP model, engine # 282H07 in a Craftsman 917 riding lawn mower from the early 2000's.
