The famous "Habanera" from the Carmen Fantasie de Concert op.25 by Pablo de Sarasate is, in addition to being a marvellous and spectacular showpiece, is also an excellent acoustic test for the violin itself. The high -position performance on the G-string, the double-stops, and the left-hand pizzicato and the harmonics are all put to the test in terms of response, timbre and ease of sound emission. A violin maker must understand that his first responsibility is to build instruments that make music, so a great musical sense is necessary for him to navigate the tiny acoustical details that create the difference. I am fortunate because I have studied the violin since my adolescence, a passion which I have cultivated and developed in the course of years of learning.
