One Million Yen Girl is a serene and heartwarming story about running away from our problems and the consequences that follow. Suzuko Satou is a quiet and introverted girl who thought she could live a simple and peaceful life by simply agreeing and laughing. However, this avoidance of conflict and confrontation unfairly lands her in jail. She decides to start anew by saving one million yen, leaving her past behind, moving to a new town where nobody knows her, and repeating this process. Through her journey, her experiences help her learn how to become a stronger and more emboldened person who can face the world head on. It was released in 2008 by writer and director Yuki Tanada. The quality in this video is not the greatest. I could only get my hands on the DVD. I upscaled the resolution and sharpness in editing, but it still doesn't look good. Apologies for that.
