LOST THE PLOT Ep. 4 | Why I left LA for Nashville (and *almost* ran back)

I spent my youth playing characters on scripts written by others. At 36, I’m finally taking the lead in my own story—unscripted and unapologetic. In 2020, I made a choice that many in the entertainment industry called a mistake: I blew up my life in LA and moved my family to a small town in Tennessee. I was looking for safety, comfort, and a "quieter path," but I wasn't prepared for the culture shock of the Bible Belt or the "fish out of water" feeling of living somewhere that didn't mirror my city-girl roots. Today, I’m sharing why I almost ran back to California, the reality of choosing "peace" over "ego," and how I’m building a community in a place where I thought I’d always be an outsider. 00:00 – The Hollywood Duality: Dreams vs. Trauma 01:30 – The "Random" Pandemic Pivot: Why Tennessee? 04:15 – Why New York wasn't practical with a small child 07:45 – Bible Belt Culture Shock: Being a "Fish Out of Water" 10:20 – The Values Audit: Choosing my kids over my ego 13:55 – If you build it, they will come: Finding your community 16:10 – The high cost (and reward) of being honest Drop a comment below!
