It rises in a particularly hostile region of the world, reaching a peak of 5,600 meters. It is there, in a mine inaccessible to any vehicle, where oxygen is lacking, in the freezing cold, that fascinating deep blue aquamarine crystals flourish. At this dizzying altitude, for six months a year, shepherds turned miners extract these enormous crystals by hand under the protection of a shaman who appeases the wrath of the fairies who haunt these mountains. This film will immerse you in an exceptional human adventure where cold, illness, conflicts managed by popular tribunals, the joy of discovery, and beliefs are the daily life of these miners. You will follow Murtaza, day by day, a man who doesn't hesitate to travel long distances to sell his discoveries. The end of his journey is Peshawar, a city not far from Afghanistan where all kinds of commerce are possible. It is at the home of a merchant in this city that you will discover his treasure and many more. From this extreme point of Pakistan, the most beautiful aquamarines leave to be cut and mounted on precious jewels like those of Lorenz Baümer, Place Vendôme in Paris.
