How to Turn Antler Pens
This video shows how I turn deer antler pens. I'm using the Faith, Hope, & Love Pen Kit. It's a wonderful kit for beginner pen turners or woodturners. Turning deer antler is very similar to turning wood. More about the kit: The words "Faith, Hope, Love" are engraved around the center band of the pen. There are also some beautifully crafted cross emblems on the pen cap. I'll show you step-by-step how I made the pen and I'll be using deer antler. This is deer antler that comes from the Whitetail Deer. Whitetail Deer naturally shed their antlers each year, and I go out to the woods every late February or March to hunt for these fallen treasures. Turning antler pens is probably my most favorite antler crafts, but antler rings and Christmas trees are also fun projects.
