As a high school senior, I was fortunate enough to learn about the FlexMed program, so I started college armed with that knowledge. 01:03 The FlexMed Program at the Icahn school of medicine is the early assurance program I went through. As a college sophomore, I applied, having completed 1 year of a college-level science course. Other requirements include SAT & ACT scores, completing an honor's thesis, no grade below B-minus, and once accepted, you are committed to matriculating only to Mount Sinai upon graduation. 02:45 For the rest of the video, I talk about a handful of similar programs, who can apply, when you can apply, specific requirements, and any other special considerations to consider. 02:55 The next program is Boston University Early Medical School Selection Program. There is no strict GPA requirement, but students must complete at least one year of biology, with lab, and one year of chemistry, with lab, at minimum. Once accepted, students will be spending summers taking courses at Boston University. After their senior year, they have the opportunity to experience campus residence as well. 03:47 The second one is the University at Buffalo Early Assurance Program. Students from University at Buffalo, D’Youville College, Canisius College, and Tougaloo College. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and spots are generally reserved for students historically underrepresented in the field of medicine. To be considered, students must apply only to the University of Buffalo through AMCAS and attend UB if accepted. 05:00 Honorable Mentions include the University of California Riverside School of Medicine, the University of Toledo College of Medicine & Life Sciences, and the University of Florida Medical Honors Program. #medschool #earlyassurance #residency __________________________________________________________ Instagram: / drdarko.md Twitter: / kampemdarko
