Project 06 - Sonic Was Always Good

This whole video can basically be summed up as "X is actually useful now". It's amazing how many features of 06 were superfluous in the original game, and how pretty much everything was fixed here. One other big thing I like about this game is how taking damage works. Your rings really scatter around when you get hit. They don't just make a nice little circle around you. So you need to go out of your way to recollect one. You can't just ignore damage in this game. That will eventually get you killed. Unlike almost every official 3D Sonic game. Another small critique I'd give this game is that the red gem is now pretty useless, since it slows down the player too. I'd say revert it to how it worked in 06, minus slowing down the timer. I was initially not sure if I wanted to do a video on P06. Felt like I said everything I had to say in my Fan-Made Sonic Remakes video. But I hope this was a good watch. I mainly wanted to show off the gameplay and how fun this game can be when you get in there. I was actually debating for quite a while whether or not to give fan game reviews the SWAG title. But putting them into some other category is like treating fan games as lesser than official games. Which is something I definitely do not believe. There are nearly as many great Sonic fan games as there are official ones, and they quality of them can often be comparable or even better than the official stuff. They deserve to be given the same respect.
