Variations on 'My Nanny O' by William Forbes from Johnson's book of 18th-century Scots Fiddle Music

A fine set of variations, played twice on two contrasting fiddles, one old, one not really. The first comes from France and was made in 1905. It was retailed by Thomas Craig of Aberdeen, who bought good continental violins 'in the white', i.e. unvarnished, set them up (varnishing them, adding bridges, pegs, strings and so on) and sold them. I think this violin is French. The second was made recently, some time in the past 20 years I think, by Sandy Robertson of Garmouth in Moray. `foe some reason my 'phone has reversed the image. I am not left handed!
