$15 SNORKELING IN GILI AIR | Turtles & underwater statues

Location: Gili Air, Lombok Recorded: September 6, 2022 Vlog 20 We purchased a full-day public snorkeling tour from a random hut we found on Gili Air. We recommend the public snorkeling tour because although the private tour provides you your own boat, it does not provide private access to the snorkeling sights. The sights are crowded with many tourists enjoying the scenery. The total came to $15 for both of us! We met our group at 9:30 am and boarded a tiny boat to cross the ocean to Gili Trawangan where we saw countless turtles. Then we got back on the boat to see the Gili Meno statues off the coast of Gili Meno. The piece includes 48 life-size statues of couples embracing and lying down, created by the well-known underwater sculptor, Jason deCaires Taylor. After hours of snorkeling, we had a traditional Indonesian lunch and were stuck on Gili Meno for hours due to an afternoon thunderstorm. When we returned to Gili Air, we showered and got ready to go to dinner and watch another beautiful sunset. We enjoyed our meal and the vibes at Pink Coco. There are no cars or scooters on Gili Air so we enjoyed the stillness of the island this night. We hope you enjoy the vlog, and we are excited to show you more of our travels over the next few days!
