Caravan – Duke Ellington | Drumeo Playalong Drum Cover (Jazz Standard from Whiplash)

I’ve been a Drumeo student for about 4 months, and even after 40 years as a professional drummer, I wanted to challenge myself with a structured system to push my playing to the next level. One of my favorite Drumeo features is the Playalongs — drumless tracks where you’re encouraged to play them your way, not just like the example drummer. A few weeks ago, my instructor Kyle challenged me to start tackling them, so here’s the first in what I hope will be a weekly series! This one is the classic jazz standard “Caravan” by Duke Ellington, famously featured in the movie Whiplash. The chart was a real blow — not an easy one — but an absolute blast to play.
