The love and respect that is due to our Prophet(S.A.W) is self-evident. Whoever loves the Prophet(S.A.W) has loved Allah, and whoever loves Allah also loves the Prophet(S.A.W). Unfortunately, in our times, there is this new trend in Islam. Some decide to reject the Hadith of the Prophet(S.A.W) and only accept the Quran. This type of understanding has no basis in our religion. Remember, the one who told you about the Quran is the same one who told you about the Hadith. If you did not trust him from the first day, you would not trust the Quran itself. Of the Branches of Iman is to love the Prophet(S.A.W), and also to respect him. To love and show respect don’t necessarily come together. There are some people whom you respect, but don’t love. There are also some people whom you love, but don’t respect.
