John Williams: Remembering Carolyn (theme from 'Presumed Innocent'; piano solo version)

John Williams (1932- ) - the composer not the guitarist - needs no introduction from me. This excellent transcription of the main theme from the 1990 Harrison Ford movie appears in the 'John Wiliams Anthology' compilation (ISBN 723188617746). The piano is prominent in the orchestral version (which, however, also uses electronic sounds and an ooh-chorus for effect), and the piece transfers well to this medium. Williams' music seems to me a fascinating (and incredibly successful) blend of elements from Copland, Barber, Bernstein, and Rachmaninov (and perhaps Prokofiev in pieces like the 'Parade of the Ewoks').
