Some of our weekend away, 3 -5th July 2026

Back based in the Cairngorms, Friday is just a "get the tent up and chill" day, as my working day starts at 3.15am. Saturday we went to Lochindorb. A bit windy for Spike to try his smaller drone. The first memorial, I assume was for someone from the estate, and the second one by the loch side, I think, is for the 17 year old boy who drowned here a few months ago. Then we decided to go via Dulsie Bridge so Spike could try his drone, as we guessed it wouldn't be as windy due to toe setting, and I'd try and get down to the rocks for a better view. Success! got the path down, and even managed to carefully scramble down some rocks and found the lovely waterfall! And getting back up was easier as usual. We also had the whole place to ourselves. I then walked along to the actual Viewpoint from the picnic area, bit as you'll see it's quite overgrown.. Then I walked some of the path along the riverside (river Findhorn. After here, we went back via Carrbridge. been here numerous times in absolutely all weathers!. it's picturesque in the snow, summer, and even when the river is so full and fast, you can't even get onto the viewing platform because it's flooded! And lastly, I wanted to feed the ducks at Loch Morlich 😂. I always take them porridge oats. It was busy, so I also attracted a few kids too. obviously I tried not to film them and act like some one paedo 🫣, but the mum's and dad's were fine.
