Karbanátky #warlocorn ORIGINAL

Karbanátek is a fried patty made from ground meat, typically supplemented with other ingredients such as spices, salt and bun soaked in milk. It may also contain a certain proportion of vegetables, such as cabbage meatballs, or pieces of cheese. In addition to frying, meatballs can also be baked. "Distant relatives" of the Czech meatball are the Balkan čevabčiči and čufty or Russian cutlets. In Czech cuisine, meatballs are already documented in the cookbook of Magdalena Dobromila Rettigová in the first half of the 19th century. In the first half of the 20th century, Marie Janků-Sandtnerová's meatballs were prepared from a mixture of minced meat: beef, pork and veal, from soaked buns, eggs, bacon, onions, marjoram, lemon peel, pepper, salt and were fried in lard. Mashed potatoes, stewed carrots, spinach or lentils were served as a side dish. Juliana Anna Fialová's cookbook and Recipes of Hot Dishes from the second half of the 20th century include a recipe for a mixture of ground beef and pork, breadcrumbs, onions, and eggs. In the first recipe, they are seasoned only with salt and pepper, while in the second, they are also seasoned with garlic and marjoram.
