Is it just me, or does it seem like Jelly Roll became a bit of an 'mentor in residence' on Idol the last two seasons? He certainly was around for much of this season and it looked like the artists and coaches and everyone involved really enjoyed it. And so it felt appropriate that he would join one of the finalists on stage for the Finale - Jamal was the chosen one! What a great performance they gave us! So much energy and sincerity during their performance, both obviously truly connected to the messaging of the songs. I loved it.
