Fujifilm Depth of Field, Explained
Your Fujifilm camera hides your real depth of field until the moment you press the shutter. Here is how to see it, control it, and read it before you ever take the shot. When you frame a shot, your Fujifilm shows the scene at the lens's widest aperture, so you are only seeing the shallowest depth of field possible. That is great for focusing, but it hides what your final image will actually look like once you stop down. I walk through the built-in tools Fujifilm gives you to preview and measure depth of field, plus the one menu setting that trips up a lot of shooters.
