Today I want to share a thought that struck me while doing something I've been doing for over twenty years: searching for music. I opened Beatport, started listening to new releases, and without realizing it, I was deciding the fate of songs in just three or four seconds. Play. Next. Download. Next. And then I asked myself a question... Has music lost its value... or have we changed? In this video, I talk about how our way of consuming music has evolved, the speed at which we live, the increase in BPM, the algorithm, the "next" culture, and why perhaps we no longer listen to songs... we simply consume them. This isn't a nostalgia video. I don't think things were better before. But I do think it's worth taking a few minutes to reflect on where music culture is headed. And, as always...
